Introduction
The 28th Congress of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences will be hosted by the Australian Division of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS), in cooperation with Engineers Australia (EA), and will be held from 23 - 28 September 2012 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
While most of the information about the event will be posted on the main congress website some important announcements will also be posted here for the benefit of members of the Society.

ICAS 2012 Awards Nominations
The International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS) presents a total of eight awards in various categories at each ICAS Congress. With the 2012 ICAS Congress being held in Australia, there is an opportunity for members to consider nominating a fellow Australian who is deserving of one these awards. The awards available are:
1. Daniel and Florence Guggenheim Memorial Lecture in the Aeronautical Sciences
2. ICAS - von-Karman Award for International Cooperation in Aeronautics
3. ICAS - Maurice Roy Medal
4. ICAS - John J. Green Award
5. ICAS - John McCarthy Student Awards
6. ICAS – Honorary Fellowship
7. ICAS – Award for Innovation in Aeronautics
8. ICAS – Award for Distinguished Service to ICAS
All nominations should go through RAeS Australian Division as the member society and members are encouraged to suggest possible candidates to the division
