54th Kingsford-Smith Lecture & Dinner - Charles Champion

Charles Champion was appointed Executive Vice President Engineering in April 2010. In this role he is responsible for research & technology, overall product architecture and concept development, the design office, integration & flight-testing and continued product airworthiness. In this new position, Charles will continue to be a member of the Airbus Executive Committee. Prior to this appointment Charles was Executive Vice President Customer Services, a position he held since April 2007.

Charles was born in 1955 near Paris, France. He graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace in Toulouse in 1978, and holds a Master of Science degree from Stanford University. Married with two children, Charles enjoys running, listening to opera and going to the theatre.
