Professor Dr Joachim Szodruch is the DLR Executive Board member responsible for Aeronautics and for career development. He has a distinguished career in aerodynamic research and was formerly General Manager for R&D at Airbus.

A lecture on the Eurofighter will be followed by the AGM.

AGM agenda is:· Introduction and Apologies· Review of the Minutes of the 2007 AGM, (these will be distributed at the AGM or are available beforehand from the Secretary)· Chairman’s Report· Treasurer’s Report· Election of Committee for 2009· A motion will be put "That the Canberra Branch of the RAeS, Australian Division Inc. change its Financial Year to 1 July - 31 June with effect from 1 July 2009." As will be explained at the meeting the purpose of the change is to provide more time for auditing between end of financial year and the AGM.

Any Other Business, (as mentioned in formal notification of the AGM a month ago, any motions to be put at the AGM must be advised to the Secretary at least seven days prior to the meeting. None have been advised).
